Good morning! I’m reporting live from my favorite cozy chair while the snow pours down outside. Snow days on Mondays are the VERY BEST.
Anyway, it’s the middle of the month again, so I’m joining Heather to share my confessions. Here are a few of my latest hot messes:
February 2016 Confessions:
Remember napkin mom? Napkin mom forgot to sign up for ANYTHING for the school Valentine party last week. Napkin Mom = NOTHING Mom. #fail
I LOVE snow days, but I do not love playing in the snow. To me, snow days are about watching movies and taking naps and making soup. We have a strict rule here that we don’t go out until the snow stops coming down, and I might pray every time that the snow goes from my “coming down” to “gone” overnight. (Go ahead and add “Un-Fun Mom” to my resume.)
I’ve been using the laundry room as my personal closet for at least six months now. Going down there to pick out my clothes for the day has just become a part of my regular morning routine. (In my defense, my actual closet is in Nora’s room, and it seems like she is sleeping in there every time I have a minute to put my laundry away.)
If you are a friend (or even, let’s be honest, a vague acquaintance) and you are about to have a baby, I will straight-up STALK your social media accounts (and even be the annoying person to text you) waiting for a baby announcement. I can’t help myself. #hereslookingatyouHeather
It is 9:30AM, and I’m already thinking about whether or not we will have school tomorrow. (What’s wrong with me?)
Have a great week friends!

P.S. Head on over to Heather’s blog to check out her confessions (I ADORE the first one and can totally relate) and make sure you are following her on Instagram to stalk wait for her baby girl’s big arrival!

These made me laugh. I’m pretty much the same on everything you said. We don’t have snow here but I imagine I’d be like you about those things too.

This time last year we had like 4 snow days in a row. This year? Nadda… 🙁

SO EXCITED to hear about your Serial unit! Did you have to get parental approval sign-off for that? I could never imagine doing it at my school — I was so stressed out teaching The Kite Runner the last unit.

Oh my gosh I am SO the same way with snow days! And I definitely remember refreshing the news page on my phone repeatedly for school cancelations. Snow days as a teacher were even better than I remembered them as a kid! 🙂 And oh so funny about waiting on baby- GIRL I am letting you DOWN! This baby is wayyy to comfy where she is- doesn’t she know that her due date has come and gone and that we are all so excited to see her?! I have these visions of Matt and me holding her in the hospital that are starting to feel like distant dreams instead of something that will actually be happening any day. Not to mention I found myself disinfecting the inside of the wash machine this afternoon #gethereNOWbabygirl #mamaisabouttobeadmitted
Okay- longest comment ever. Hope you get another snow day tomorrow!!!!

We have been very fortunate this winter. It’s been light and this week, we have temps in the 70’s. I do NOT want to use our snow days. One of them is the Friday before Memorial Day. We have tickets to fly out for the Indy 500 on Thursday. Please, keep the snow so we don’t get any. Hubby uses the laundry room as his closet. He does not have any excuse, he just prefers the laundry room for some reason!

I only just got around to reading this post, but I love snow days. All ours melted this past week, but it is coming down now- we got to come home 1.5 hours early. Here is to hoping for a snow day tomorrow with soup. I also don’t play outside in the snow.
