Is it humanly possible to start a monthly feature post on your blog without remarking on how fast time is flying and how it seems impossible that another month has come and gone? The answer is no.
HOW is it already the end of July?
As we like to do, today Heather and I are sharing our “favorite finds” from the last thirty days. Check out her list at Notes from the Nelsens and mine right here…
I can’t remember where I heard about this, but it is so cool. Basically, it’s just a free iPhone app for writing down and saving the cute little things your kids say (which I want to be SO much better at doing), but it takes it to a new level and puts it in these cute little text bubbles and other graphics. You can make an account for each of your kids and enter his/her birthday, and then it automatically adds the “-Sam, age 4” at the end. You can also add photos to the background if you want, and there is a spot to add notes about the context of the quote if you want too. When you’re done, the app saves it, but you can also save to your camera roll, post to Instagram, or even print straight from the app. I just think this is the best idea!
2. McDonald’s Ice
I might have stooped to a new low with this one, I mean, ice? But, really… The ice maker on our freezer has been broken for about five years now; normally this isn’t a huge deal to me, but I’m on a big iced coffee kick right now so… Did you know you can buy an eight-pound bag of McDonald’s excellent cubed ice for $1.00? You can. And, you can get it through the drive-thru — so much nicer than having to remember to buy a bag on your way out of the grocery store and you can get fries with it.
3. May Designs iPhone/Desktop Wallpapers
Super cute May Designs style on my phone for free? Yes please! (I have the pink right now, but I can’t wait to see what design they release for August.)
4. Stitch Fix
I’ve already talked enough about this here, but I had to include it in this list because it is, most definitely, a favorite from this month! (P.S. ELEVEN of you signed up from my referral links so far… THANK YOU!! I hope you love your fix!!)
5. Gerber Zip-up Sleepers (for babies)
I’m at the stage in parenting right now where convenience wins out over cuteness (almost) every time. I picked up these cute zipper sleepers on clearance at Walmart a few weeks ago, and I love them! The colors are cute, the fabric is lightweight, and the zipper makes getting dressed and changing diapers SO much easier/faster. I’ve decided that zippers on sleepers is a MUST from now on in my life.
Well, there’s my very random compilation of favorites! (Don’t forget to check out Heather’s list too!) What were your best discoveries in July?
Happy Friday!

i’m the only person in the world who doesn’t prefer zip ups. i like button jammies because you can undo the legs to check for dirty diapers without undoing the whole thing. esp at night when they’re swaddled!
