Tissues and coffee pretty much sum up the last few days around here. We spent the first part of the week “snowed in”, and the last part trying to help our poor girl breathe out of her nose. #notfun #nosefrida #notafraidtosucksnot Anyway, we survived, and it’s the weekend again! Here are a few links & likes to kick off your Saturday:
Links:
The Lively Show: Proactively Parenting with an Entrepreneurial Mindset with Pat Flynn – I’m a big fan of Jess Lively’s podcast AND Pat Flynn’s own podcast “Smart-Passive Income” (I’ve mentioned them both here before), but this is a topic I had never heard discussed before, and I thought it was SO interesting. (It’s only discussed for the first 15 minutes or so of the episode, but it’s definitely worth a listen!)
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s ‘Africa’ Tribute Video – my favorite Hollywood couple by a LANDSLIDE
“To Get Into College, Harvard Report Advocates for Kindness Instead of Over-Achieving” – I’m printing this for my students on Monday
Goodreads: Best Books 2015 – I’ve only read two of these (and one is the children’s pick). Do you agree with their winners?
“Velveeta + Vulnerability” – this is a refreshing read; and, if you are a mom and aren’t reading Coffee & Crumbs, you need to be.
“10 Barbie Dolls for Real Life” – a hilarious response to all the hype surrounding the “new” Barbie this week
“This is Happy” video – parenthood, perfectly

The Giving Keys – have you heard of this LA trend? I learned about them from Rachel Hollis on The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey, and now I really want one. The concept is so neat, and the look is totally trendy. (One of these would make an awesome Valentine’s Day gift with your “word for the year” on it. *Jeff*)
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, I ADORE this cute framed “heartstagram” from Framebridge. (Only $39 shipped – order by Feb. 7!)
Ok. ONE more. I’m totally going to order classroom Valentine’s from Minted again this year. They totally make me feel like a “with it” mom, without really being “with it” at all. 😉 (We did the “I Like You a Bot” last year, and I’m leaning towards “You Make My Heart Race” with a cheapo toy car this year.)
Patagonia’s 30% off sale is going on now – It’s rare to find Patagonia on sale, so if you’re a fan, don’t miss this. I have the Re-Tool Snap T pullover and Jeff wears either his Better Sweater or Nano Puff Jacket every day! I try not to spend that much money on stuff for the kids, but Sam had a Synchilla Cardigan that I found at a consignment sale when he was little, and I loved it so much… I’m very tempted by the pink version for Nora… #somebodytalkmedown
May Designs just released a 40 Days of Prayer and Gratitude Journal for Lent. Love it.
Have you seen the Oh Joy! for Target nursery line yet? So pretty and cute!
My mom and sister recently had an intervention with me and said I’m wearing shirts that are “too short” (Mind you, they weren’t talking about the shirts I wear with leggings, just shirts in general. Who knew?) As such, I’ve been on a bit of a tunic kick lately. This Embracing Basic Top from Modcloth looks perfect (and it’s only $29).
Alright, have a great Saturday friends! Anyone have any fun plans?
