I don’t think saying “Bless your heart” is derogatory but I can also see why he thinks it is. It’s kind of one of those things that a person may say when they are at a loss at someone’s craziness, terrible situation, or cluelessness. But I think it just depends on how the person says it.

Thanks for those links. I’ve been under some stress because of new requirements for teacher evaluations so it’s nice to be reminded of the necessity of rest, slowing down and appreciating God for who He is.
