Good morning friends! Jeff left at 6AM for a fishing trip, so I’ve been up for a while enjoying hot coffee and a quiet house. I’ll round up the kiddos for soccer practice and a spring festival soon, but for now, I’m soaking it up… In case you’re doing the same, here are some goodies to get your day started:

“This Stage of Life? It’s Hard” – This blog post has been making the rounds on Facebook this week, and there’s a good reason. I am 100% in this stage, and I couldn’t agree more with ALL of it. (More response to come on Monday.)

“Why I Write Scary Stories for Children” – Very interesting perspective. Though I already tend to be on the “liberal” side when it comes to literature (and kids), this still made me think.

“Fact: All Moms Are Working Moms” – Agreed. Excellent perspective from a long-time reader/friend featured on Blogher this week.

“To The Big Kids Tearing Through the Park” – I admit that I’ve judged the big kids at the park and made a silent vow to “never” allow my kids to play like that when they are older, but this article – combined with the fact that Sam is actually starting to be a big kid – made me re-think that a little. Good read.

21 Day Prayer Challenge for Teachers at Teach 4 the Heart – starts May 1st. What a great way to end the school year strong!

“Let’s Start Giving Dads a Little More Respect” – totally agree!

Rodan & Fields Foaming Sunless Tanner. No, no one paid me to say that! My cousin(ish) sells R&F and gifted me with a bottle of this when she was in a town a few weeks ago. I have to admit I kept putting off trying it because I thought the application would be time consuming and the results minimal – self-tanner hardly EVER works for me – but I was completely wrong! I put it on both legs and arms in – literally – two minutes, and I LOVE the subtle (not streaky, not orange) tan it provided in just one application. I’ve used it three times now, and actually braved showing my legs in public this week. Definitely worth the $24.

Have you heard of Farmgirl Flowers? I’m absolutely obsessed with their bouquets, and the prices are really comparable to most other florists but – dare I say it – so much prettier! (Why are flowers so expensive?) These would be awesome to send to your mom/sister/best friend etc.

Speaking of plants, I seriously want two of these for my front porch. I have the opposite of a green thumb, but I LOVE the look of hanging ferns on our big front porch in the spring and summer. What do you think? The reviews are very mixed.

I think I love this dress more than I’ve ever loved a dress before. (Too much?)

Emily Ley unveiled her new planner designs this week (they don’t go on sale until May). Did you see them? I’m torn between the Fancy Floral Daily and the navy leather Weekly. What’s your favorite?

A pretty breast pump?!? This would have been nice to know about a year ago…

Happy Weekend!

P.S. Congrats to Meg S. for winning $150.00 to Minted from this post. I can’t wait to see what she picks out! (Even if you weren’t as lucky as Meg, make sure you check out Minted for great invitations, graduation announcements, and Mother’s Day/ teacher gifts!)
