Good morning friends!! This weekend is all about these two beautiful girls as my sister celebrates her 30th (!!) birthday tomorrow and, of course, it’s Mother’s Day. #sorryyouhavetosharekat They are, truly, two of the most fun, generous, stylish, and hilarious women I know. They keep me cool(ish) and laughing all the time. I’m looking forward to a great dinner out with them tonight and a super fun mother-daughter weekend next week as the party continues! What are you up to this weekend?
Anyway, today’s links are mostly Mother’s Day themed, but I think there is something for everyone. There’s also a HUGE list of “likes” below, so if motherhood isn’t your thing, just scroll right on down…
Links:
“For the Mom Who Doesn’t Feel Good Enough” by Jennie Allen
“Off Brand” by Sarah Bessey – My circumstances in mothering have been a little different from hers, but I could relate SO much to being a totally different mom than the one I thought I’d be. This was refreshing and encouraging.
“Finding the Hidden Ones On Mother’s Day” – a great reminder to be sensitive about the fact that Mother’s Day isn’t happy for everyone and to remember the mommas among us that haven’t yet been given a baby…
“Motherhood to Me” from Kate Kelty at The Grace to Grieve – for mom’s that have lost
“Off the Beam” – on balance and becoming the “older mother”

Odette Scalloped Sandals from Sole Society – great every day sandals with a little extra sophistication
Flamingo from Honey Bee Tees – I am seriously debating buying this for Nora to wear in, like, two years. I love it that much. (This one too.)
BIG kids sale at Old Navy this week! I ordered Sam jorts. #neversaynever
If only Nora needed a new bathing suit… I’m dying over this one from Gap.
This new book looks so cool.
I love this necklace – it’s simple and delicate, but still makes a statement.
Totally crushing on this sweatshirt for cool summer nights.
Not one but TWO bloggers I follow mentioned this laptop cover this week. I’m undecided about it, but I trust their style. What do you think?
Who doesn’t want a Golden Girls’ coloring page though?
I’m obsessed with the birthday countdown calendar Amanda made. Sam asks me at least once every day how many days there are until his birthday – 66, for the record – so he, obviously, needs one of these. (I’m looking at you, Amanda!!)
And finally… Have you heard of Schoola? I had a phone call with one of their marketers this week, and I’m so excited about what they’re doing. Basically, it’s an online consignment shop for gently used name-brand clothing, BUT the really cool part is that 40% of every sale goes directly towards funding specific school needs. When you make a purchase – usually at a 60 or 70% discount – you can see right beside it what school you are supporting. Very cool!
They function as a forum for school fundraisers, so if you are looking for a way to raise money for your school, this might be your ticket. Just get in touch with them to order bags, then host a clothing/accessory drive, and let them do the work posting and selling your items online. You can provide your community with the link to shop (or just let randoms – like me – do the buying) and your school will get 40% of the profits from everything you sell. Cool, right?
*They are offering 30% and FREE SHIPPING through Sunday, so go shop – and feel good about it! 😉
That’s all folks! Have a great Saturday and a very happy Mother’s Day if you’re celebrating tomorrow!

P.S. The S&S newsletter is going out next week!!!! Make sure you sign up (—>) if you haven’t already!

I have that Anthro necklace! I LOVE it and get a ton of compliments. My kids try to straighten it, though! They’re not much for abstract typography 😉
E — you could totally tackle that countdown calendar. Sam has a birthday coming up, right?!?! I believe in you!!
