So, my girl is 3! If you think time has flown by, just imagine how I feel. I literally can’t believe it. It feels like she went from baby to little girl in the last two weeks. She has just recently stopped wearing diapers, given up her pacifier (last year’s broken leg earned her a whole extra year of pacifier – oops), and moved to a twin bed. The other night I went to check on her before I went to sleep and ended up just sitting on the floor of her room like a creeper-mom for a little bit thinking about what a big kid she has become and just how lucky I am to be her mom. (I might have also cried a little bit.)
She is feisty and sassy, fiercely independent, hilarious, creative, and genuinely kind. All the things that exhaust me about her are also the things I love the most. She’s got big things ahead of her, this one. I know it.
Anyway, by the time you read this, I’ll be gearing up for a morning at Chuck E. Cheese (!!!), so have an extra cup of coffee for me and cozy up with this extra long* list of links & likes…
*I started this to go up last Saturday but forgot to publish it, so these are from the last two weeks!

I loved the From the Front Porch Podcast “March Madness” episode this week. Basically, they put the top 16 bestselling books of 2018 so far up against each other in a basketball style bracket. Super fun concept, and I added several new titles (like this one, this one – though it sounds like a HARD read, and – maybe – this one) to my TBR list. *P.S. This, from Modern Mrs. Darcy, is pretty fun too!
Not surprisingly, I’m OBSESSED with John and Sherry’s Beach House Tour— I wonder how long the wait list will be to rent that thing on AirBNB? #worthit
“The Stages of Realizing You Are Late” – I could, sadly, relate to this all too well. So funny and true.
“What My Stage IV Cancer Taught Me” – all good, but reasons #3 & 4 really got me.
“How Do I Keep Them Safe?” – a good perspective on a hard topic that we’re all thinking about…
It’s no secret how much I enjoyed and learned from Blue Babies Pink last year (I wrote about it exactly a year ago here, and again here), so you can imagine how excited I was to hear Brett Trapp being interviewed by Meg Tietz and Kelly Gordon on the Sorta Awesome Show on Friday. The episode is just as wonderful as you’d expect it to be – and, seriously, not political or controversial at all. It’s just about loving people where they are!
The Mom Hour Podcast released a special interview episode last week with a teacher about Kindergarten readiness. We are past this stage with Sam (you’ll remember, we did an extra year of preschool and sent him to school at 6 this past fall), but this topic still comes up with friends in real life all the time. This is a great resource – PACKED with great advice/wisdom – if you are approaching the registration date and still on the fence or even if you have already made your decision and want to be sure you’re prepared. (There’s even a good conversation about parent-teacher communication and support that would be good for ANYONE with school-age kids!)
“Why YA Literature Appeals to More Than Just Young Adults” – I second this.

I’m reading Who Thought This Was a Good Idea currently, and enjoying it – honestly – more than I thought I would.
I’ve started following @fivefootoneteacher – an English teacher from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School – on Instagram. She’s adorable, but way more importantly, she has such a heart and a hope for her students even in the wake of unthinkable tragedy. Worth a follow even if you aren’t a teacher.
I rarely (maybe never?) post about men’s clothes, but Jeff got two new pairs of these jeans from Amazon Fashion recently, and we both really like them. They get all the bonus points too because he didn’t have to go to the mall and could try on/ send back the ones that didn’t work with free Prime shipping. #sold
Such a cute sweater for spring, right?
Would you wear white JEGGINGS? (I’m all about that elastic waistband.)
These earrings are the cutest.
Added this dress to my spring “wish list.” Perfect for work, church, or even as a beach cover-up. Now that’s versatile!
Oh man, this dress and this dress too!!! (60% off right now!!!!)
This is totally random, but I’m obsessed with these (with arugula and goat cheese) for my lunches. Yum!
Cute new travel journal for kids. Sam would love this!
And there you have it! See you next week!
