Good morning friends! Hope you all had a WONDERFUL holiday with the people you love and are – mostly – recovered by now. 😉
It’s the Monday after Christmas (in case, like me, you’ve been so deep in “vacation mode” you hardly even know what time it is, much less the day). This week is so bittersweet for me… On the one one hand, I’m sad that Christmas is over and overwhelmed by all the putting away, cleaning up, and organizing that lies before me in the next few days (seriously – you should see my house right now). But, on the other hand, I love the chance to reflect on the past year and look forward to the next one. I’m a big fan of “fresh starts,” and I have so much to be excited about in 2015!
Of course, with all those new and fun things, comes a To Do list a mile (no, really) long, and I’m feeling every bit of 28 weeks pregnant right now minus any ounce of “nesting” energy. So… Today, after a week of holiday play and rest, I’m channelling Lara Casey and attempting to “Make Things Happen.” I’m just going to take things one step at a time and cross things off until they are done… I’m going to remember that I’m shooting for progress, not perfection. I’m going to remind myself that babies really don’t care if your whole house is organized from top to bottom or even if their nursery has cute wall art and matching bedding (she won’t even sleep in there for several months anyway)…
I’ve got a fresh pot of (decaf) coffee, plenty of Netflix and podcasts to catch up on, and more plastic bins than I can count… Game on!
What about you? Are you in organizing/cleaning mode at your house? What’s on your post-holiday To Do List? (Tell me I’m not the only one who hasn’t even started yet!)

P.S. This is a fun week on the ole blog… I’m sharing 14 Favorites from 2014 tomorrow, all the books I read in 2014 on Wednesday, and my January goals/resolutions on Thursday. It’s a new day friends!

I just got home and needed this as I am overwhelmed with the unpacking, putting holiday stuff away, taking down the tree, and wanting to prep school stuff. Forget all the personal fun things I want to do. I will take it one room at a time today and see how far I get. I start with our main living areas then move the bedrooms and lastly the basement.

This time of year I go into organizational overdrive. This year I am really focused on the TOYS. I feel like our house was become overrun my mini princesses, dolls, legos and more. I also take time each morning this week to UNSUBSCRIBE and not just mindlessly delete unwanted email. It does take longer to unsubscribe but it is SO nice to get less email.
